Southernmost Point
South Street and Whitehead Street
Website
The Southernmost Point buoy is one of the most popular photo op stops in Key West. While it isn't much more than a painted concrete(?) marker, there is something fascinating that draws people to this point marking the southernmost tip of the continental United States.
Artists painting and vendors selling coconuts and conch shells complete the scene.
Arriving here may be anti-climactic to some, but it is something that many feel is well worth it.
If you combine a stop here with a walk up Whitehead Street (see Step Stories) you'll have spent your time well.
