223 Petronia St.
One of the newest dining establishments in Key West is also one of the best.
Firefly, situated on Petronia St, in Bahama Village, between Blue Heaven and Santiago's Bodega, calls itself "Southern Kitchen", which it rightly is, with things like boiled peanuts, pimento cheese, fried chicken and shrimp and grits on the menu.
One thing it definitely is, is fantastic! The interior of the building is decorated in soft grey and white, with super comfortable chairs and relaxing music playing. My favorite spot to sit is upstairs on the balcony, but no matter where you are, if you're here, you will have an amazing meal.
Everything they serve is made on premises, including the andouille sausage gracing the shrimp and delightfully cheesy grits, to the bread and butter pickles served as a garnish on the sandwiches and other items. The cornbread and melted fig butter that comes with your dinner entree is just the start to what will be a fantastic dining experience.
Open 10 to 10, for Brunch, Happy Hour and Dinner, you can't go wrong no matter when you go or what you order.
Check out the menus on their website, make a reservation (pretty soon, you will need one to get within a mile of this place) and step on over to Firefly!
