Built in 1891, the building itself is a beautiful example of what Key West was capable of building at a time when wrecking ruled the economy and Key West was the richest city in the world. The fully-restored building is home to a rich array of art and artifacts that document some of the most well-known Key West residents, including artist Mario Sanchez, Hemingway and the pirates who populated the town before the Navy ran them out. Filled with paintings, prints and drawings depicting Key West throughout the years, this is a wonderful museum!
